Katherine launched her career in 2001 with an ambitious plan to make Frye Law Offices into Raleigh’s most trusted family law practice. She wanted the firm to not just be successful, but to also be approachable. She intentionally designed the office space to be a calming environment for clients. She worked tirelessly to build rapport with her colleagues and a sterling reputation in the community. She also built an outstanding team that shared her dedication to caring for clients. With her no-drama approach and unique sense of humor, Katherine made a huge impact on those she served.
Katherine has always been protective of her clients and her reputation, being very careful about who she brought into the firm. But one day Katherine met an attorney who shared her convictions and equaled her passion for clients: Sarah Privette. Sarah had a unique path into family law, starting with volunteering for Legal Aid immediately after law school in 2010. During this time she worked with some of the most vulnerable victims of domestic violence and abuse. Through her volunteer work and private practice, she learned not only to be a highly effective litigator but also an empathetic and fearless advocate.
The synergy was obvious, and they knew they could work together to create a top-tier client experience with deep legal expertise. In July 2024 they co-founded Oak City Family Law to make that a reality.
Katherine and Sarah bring over three decades of combined legal experience to Oak City Family Law. Their complimentary approach and unique backgrounds have created a very well-rounded law firm, able to serve clients across the spectrum from simple to complex contested cases. They also take their clients a lot more seriously than they take themselves.
